Arrested Development ARTIST ID:

Between the years of 1992 and 1994, Arrested Development was the most important group in all of rap music. That may sound like an overdramatization, but it really is not. Their 1992 Grammy Award-winning album, 3 Years, 5 Months and 2 Days in the Life Of, was a revolutionary release which mixed grassroots folk, southern funk, and socio-cultural consciousness into a sound that sold millions of CDs. The Village Voice ranked 3 Years... the number one album of 1992, while both Spin and Entertainment Weekly ranked it number two. The album was so massive that Entertainment Weekly even asserted that Arrested Development made the mighty Public Enemy seem like "old hat." By the summer of 1994, Arrested Development had completed a massive chart-topping run with their Woodstock '94 performance serving as the final act in one of the largest stories in hip-hop history.
