Lisa DeMao ARTIST ID: 14330

Lisa has been in Music since her early childhood, heavily influenced by her grandfather and his brothers who played in swing and polka bands for many years in the Pittsburgh area. Beginning in classical piano, she developed her discipline to the extent that she competed statewide in high school and received numerous awards and titles in piano and vocal competitions. During her college years, she began branching out into more mainstream music and further polished her vocal talent into various genres including pop, swing, rock, country, and light rhythm and blues. Next, she began performing in a touring band in various Midwestern/Southeastern states as a lead singer and keyboard player.

Since Lisa's relocation to the Charlotte, North Carolina area in the early 1990's, Lisa has successfully accomplished a diverse platter of musical interests in the local area as well. Initially she began as a happy hour entertainer at Lizzie's Speakeasy as a sultry love song entertainer and played nightly at that establishment for several years, while moonlighting with other musicians after hours. She performed for several years on the Catawba Queen Riverboat during the summer months with an equally talented male counterpart. Additionally she performed as lead singer/keyboardist for several semi-local bands (i.e. Skatfish, Double-Exposure, and AlleyCat). Lisa also performed vocally with a traveling 20+ piece orchestra swing act, entitled "When Swing Was King". The next few years led Lisa into the art of composing and studio recording. She has participated in recording demos for other musicians as well as her own original music.
