"The Mixers" is truly a variety band, with material ranging from standard jazz to hard rock and roll. The trick is being able to play both stylistically, which the band does easily. This versatility is a huge contributor to the band's busy schedule "we might be playing acoustic jazz one night and hitting hard through a big PA the next," says McSwain, who plays the drums and handles business affairs for the group.

Another factor in the band's success is the fact that the players are full time musicians. "This is not something we do on the side after a day at an office. My clients know that this is my full time profession and I have the time and willingness to give their function my full attention.
