Coppertones
Artist ID: 80486
THE COPPERTONES, a six-piece dynamo based in Charleston SC burst on to the local scene in August of 2004. Born of a need for great party entertainment within the means of everyone and a desire to recapture classic R&B and Carolina Beach music the way it was meant to be; performed live with four-part harmony as the star of the show. A desire to bring great party entertainment to their clients without a gang of technicians, stacks of equipment, ear-piercing volumes or excessive costs.
THE COPPERTONES hit the ground running. Their very first show they opened for BILLY SCOTT, of Billy Scott and the Georgia Prophets. Within a few short weeks, they opened for THE COASTLINE BAND, and never looked back.
With their range of vocals it became apparent early on that this would be a band grounded in harmonies, reminiscent of bands such as THE FOUR TOPS, THE TEMPTATIONS, and countless 50's doo-wop groups.
In October of 2005 South Carolina Homes and Gardens called them "The Lowcountry's favorite Beach Band." Praise began to roll in from individuals prominent in the Carolina Beach Music establishment.
A partial list of the bands THE COPPERTONES have worked with;
The Tams. The Drifters, Billy Scott and the Prophets, Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs, The Coastline Band, Clifford Curry, and The Fantastic Shakers, to name a few.
In February of 2006, they completed their first studio project highlighted by original compositions, Party Down the Street and Eat Mo' Grits. These songs maintain the classic Beach beat that shaggers love so well. And the subsequent release Real Man featuring JUDY MARSHALL, received the same rave reviews as it rose up Beach Music Charts from DJ's all across the Southeast. Their current single I Grew Up on the Beach is beginning to climb DJ's charts everywhere great Beach Music is played.
THE COPPERTONES believe music should be live, with no pre-recorded tracks or digital sterility. They also understand the concept of "hired-help." Their shows are not about their performance; they are about making your event entertainment perfect. Shows are tailored to your venue and requirements, making them the perfect party band.
But what THE COPPERTONES are about is entertaining your guests, playing classic R&B, Soul, Motown and Carolina Beach, and having fun while doing it. THE COPPERTONES......preventing good people from hiring bad bands since 2004. The South's Premier LIVE Party Band!
