Sweetbriar

Artist ID: 15965

At first glance, Sweetbriar is a throwback to old school "bar band" such as Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen and the E-Street Band, or the Black Crowes. Their roots lie in the blues, rock, and soul persuasions and as a group they wear their influences heavily on their sleeves. A vocal force to be reckoned with, Sweetbriar relishes in four-part harmonies led by the soulful mastery of singer Stephen Drolshagen. Coupled with the raunchy guitar lines of Jon Drolshagen and John Byrnes, the band creates a sound saturated by good times and Rock & Roll. At their heart, the tasteful flavorings of Matt Coppock on drums and the thumping bass rhythms of Dan Brandao keep the crowd going long into the night. The band's blistering stage performances are geared towards leaving audiences buzzing, overwhelmed, and singing along to every word. Everywhere they go, Sweetbriar is a band simply trying to remind ordinary folks that Rock & Roll is and always will be music that will fill your soul and move your feet.

Graham,

It was a very hectic weekend with some setbacks here and there, but it turned out great, and it definitely culminated with a raging party on Saturday. Not only was the band great, they were cool to hang out with. The guys were really understanding about our schedule, and how many times we had to change it, and even though they started pretty late (our fault) , they set up quick and just kept on jamming. One senior brother commented that they were the best we'd booked in his four years. Thanks so much for recommending these guys, we had a blast with them, and I'm sure we'd book them again.

Hey Graham-

Thanks for checking up. Saturday was great. Weather was great and Sweetbriar was really cooperative with switching off/on with our other band. They did a good job and we'll definitely keep them in mind for the future. Thanks again man,

Graham,

As always, Sweetbriar was awesome. I may not remember much of the night, but I know that there was a line outside the house stretching around the corner, and I'm sure Sweetbriar had a lot to do with that. A few people told me it was the biggest line they had ever seen outside a fraternity. I'm told they played their usual great party music, which always makes for a sick party. Thanks for making it so easy, and please thank the band for us. We hope they had as much fun as we did. Looking forward to doing it again soon,

Hey Graham,

Sweetbriar was incredible! Everyone loved them and their music was awesome. From their covers to their own stuff, they couldn't have put on a better show. It was the best band we've had at Cottage since I've been at Princeton. Thanks again for all your help with that.

Thanks again,
Carly (Princeton University)
